DW-LA: Elephants Billy & Tina sent to Tulsa in overnight move 5/22/25

You may have heard elsewhere what is on the cover of the Los Angeles Times Metro section (page B1) today: ” L.A.Zoo sends two elephants to Tulsa in an overnight move.” (As always, I thank Elaine Livesey-Fassel for keeping us up to date with that paper.)

You can read that story on the LA Times website, or at this Yahoo link if you hit a paywall and are not ready to subscribe, though I highly recommend one of the super cheap online subscriptions ($1 for 4 months!) to a paper that does such a reliable job of covering animals.

You might also find the local Tulsa Channel 6 news coverage helpful as it shows the elephants’ new digs.

The Los Angeles Times will surely print some letters on this issue, so we have an opportunity to make sure that they speak for animals and to widen the discussion beyond Billy and Tina.
