Yesterday's Saturday, March 9, Wisconsin Journal front page included the headline, "Animal Activists Won't Face Charges; Dog Breeders asked that Case be Dropped."

The article opens:

"A trial set to begin a week from Monday for three animal rights activists accused of breaking into a controversial town of Blue Mounds dog breeding facility and stealing three beagles was canceled Friday after a judge dismissed the charges at the request of prosecutors.

"Assistant District Attorney Lexi Keyes wrote in a motion filed late Thursday that the owners of Ridglan Farms contacted the Dane County District Attorney's Office on Monday and 'indicated a desire to no longer have the case proceed to trial,' citing 'concerns for their physical safety, as well as for their business' if the trial were held."
